Kelsey’s work is guided by an intuitive spiritual sensibility. Her paintings explore the human experience, reflecting both the visible and the invisible realms.
About the Artist
Kelsey is a painter based in Upstate New York whose work is rooted in intuitive spiritual exploration. She earned her BA in Studio Art with a concentration in Painting from Wells College, in the Finger Lakes region of New York. During her undergraduate studies, she spent a year in Paris, France, studying under various artists and interning with the visual and design departments at MacKenzie-Childs. Her creative background also includes visual design, interior styling, and photography.
After college, Kelsey moved to New York City, where she continued painting while earning her master’s degree in Special Education. She spent several years teaching high school full-time before returning upstate to focus on her art and work as a realtor.
A young breast cancer survivor, diagnosed in December 2020, Kelsey’s recent work delves into themes of healing, spiritual awakening, and the “dark night of the soul.” Her paintings often feel atmospheric, peaceful, and subtly surreal. Through gentle, light-hearted commentary, she challenges conventional systems and religious structures, creating space for reflection, emotion, and presence in the viewer’s experience.
